Well I've been asked many times if I did a class for just little babies which got me thinking. I've always felt that having a mixed class is great as the younger ones learn to copy the older ones and love to see what they get up to. However, I understand that it can seem a bit overwhelming if your precious little baby is next to a big energetic toddler. Also, 10am is tricky to get to if your little one is still having a nap around 9am.
As a result, I am launching a new class for just babes in arms to crawlers - say up to 12 months - at the Gorringe Park Pub at 11am from Tuesday 3rd November. This will be straight after my class at 10am which will remain mixed in age. So spread the word and let me know what you think. Email me sally@rhythm-n-babes.co.uk or post on my Facebook or comment here! Well, it may be raining and feel like the end of summer but we're back. Come along to The Gorringe Pub Tuesday 1st September for some shaking and singing to cheer you and your little'un up. I've shaken my set of songs up to keep you interested. I also start back at Graveney & Meadow on Friday 4th September so come along when you can. Both classes 10-10.45am as usual and STILL only £5.
Singing and engaging with your baby or toddler is so important and beneficial. Remember, you are their first music teacher and they will get so much out of the session if you actively join in. It's great for your health and well being too! Happy new year. I'm excited to announce that I am opening a new class at the lovely Gorringe Park Pub next to Tooting Railway Station on Tuesday 13th Jan 2015. Time is 10-10.45am as usual and still only £5 drop-in (£8 for 2 siblings). We will be downstairs in the cosy cinema room so come and see for yourself.
Hi all, Don't forget music is on this half term so come and treat yourself tomorrow to Halloween treats at the bakery. Any suggestions for favourite songs to keep or new songs? I like to mix things up a bit each half term to keep us all sane. But busy clearing out my shed ready to build my new cabin next week. Lots to do. Hope to see you tomorrow at Graveney & Meadow as usual at 10am.
Apologies to anybody who has received a spam email from sales@rhythm-n-babes.co.uk. I didn't send it and my email account has been hacked. Please never open any attachments from unknown sources or odd ones. I'm so sorry if you've been bothered. Please let me know at sally@rhythm-n-babes.co.uk.
Just a heads up to say Music WiILL be on next Friday 23rd May as usual but will NOT be on Friday 30th May as I'm away.
Also not on Friday 13th June (unlucky for some but I'm having a lovely long weekend away for my birthday!) Drop me a line at sally@rhythm-n-babes.co.uk so I can put you on my email list to keep informed. Or follow me on Twitter @rythmnbabes. Thank you! Sally A big thank you to the select 4 out of 40 in my class who turned out to support RnBs taking part in Furzedown Choirs Galore festival last Saturday. We had great fun getting the whole place singing nursery rhymes with enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see all the children - small and tall - taking part and enjoying singing together. Thank you also to the local school children who were happy to join in and wave flags. Well, classes have certainly been lovely and busy this term. I started a new set of songs last week which is always a bit nerve-wracking as there's lots of new words to learn. "Daddy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow" is a lovely song but boy, there's a lot of animals to remember and what they all do! I also made some more flags as we kept running out, so we now have new red and yellow ones to wave.
Singing with your little one is such an important activity especially before the ages of 5. I do encourage all parents to sing as I know many are reluctant or feel they can't sing well. Your baby doesn't care - s/he just loves to look at you and bounce to the singing. It's great for your well being too and certainly gives me a buzz. I also run an community choir on Clapham Common Thursday evenings which is open to everyone and there's no music to read. So if you fancy coming along, please check out the website www.singittogether.co.uk_ We are not taking a break in February half term so the session will be on 10am Friday 21st Feb as usual. So don't go mad wondering what to do with your little one, come and shake and eat cake! See you there.
